Welcome to SPPL’s Readers Blog

Hello and welcome to SPPL's new readers blog!

Stories have the power to captivate and comfort, distract and heal. This blog exists because fundamental to the Saint Paul Public Library's mission is connecting readers of all ages with those stories. Now, maybe more than ever, we want to help you find the story for you, whether it's a book or e-book, an audiobook, or a movie. It's a good time to explore new parts of our collection, to experiment with different authors, formats, or genres. This blog is here to help you do that. We'll have articles about new items, what to read when you're stir crazy, how to find books to help kids process complicated emotions, and much, much more. We'll link you to booklists and booktalks, introduce you to our virtual programming line-up, and even help you get ready for One Book, One Minnesota's big author talk with Kate DiCamillo on May 20, 2020,  from 1:00-2:00p.m. And for you cinephiles out there or folks looking for your next binge-watch or great listen, we'll have you covered too.

If you're in the mood for more direct suggestions, you can ask for suggestions in your email and phone call or you can use this reading suggestion form to get started. You can also keep up with all of our booklists by following us at SPPL_Recommends. We welcome your suggestions and ideas, so please feel free to comment on this or any of our other posts.
