Transit Equity through History: On Display Through April 30

George Latimer Central Library is partnering with Metro Transit to host the Transit Equity through History exhibit on display now through April 30 during regular library hours on the first floor.

The exhibit shares a timeline of major events in Twin Cities’ transit history and goes into detail about how equity has become an increasingly important priority for Metro Transit.

Key advancements in transit history are closely related to historic moments in the struggle for Civil Rights. By thinking deeply about basic transit developments—like bus route changes, vehicle upgrades, and street construction—we gain valuable insights into how public transportation plays an important role in building an equitable, accessible, and connected city.
