Password Required for Libby, OverDrive, and MNLink

Beginning February 1, 2023, if you use MNLink, opens a new window for interlibrary loan and/or Overdrive and the Libby app, opens a new window for e-books and e-audiobooks, you will need to enter the password for your library account as well as your library card number when signing in.

This change will help us protect the privacy of your account information.  All other metro libraries require passwords to log into the shared Twin Cities Metro eLibrary and a recent policy change at MNLink makes passwords required for libraries statewide.

Reset Your Password

If you don't remember your password you can reset it at https://alpha.stpaul.lib.mn.us/pinreset, opens a new window. If the library has your email address on file a reset link will be sent to you.

If you cannot reset your password online, please contact the library, opens a new window.

OverDrive and the Libby app

In Overdrive and in the Libby app you will need to log in with your barcode and password the first time that you take an action (such as checking out an item, placing a hold, etc.) after February 1.

If you use Overdrive or Libby at multiple libraries, you will need to use the password for the library you are logging in through, which may or may not be the same as the password you use at SPPL.

On the MNLink site you will need to log in with your library barcode and password starting on February 1.

If you are picking up at a library other than the library system your card originates from, you will need to enter the password you use in the library where you are picking up, which may or may not be the same as the password you use in your home library system.
