E-magazines are now available in the Libby app

RBDigital was recently acquired by OverDrive. As a result, e-audiobook and digital magazine collections previously held in RBDigital are being moved to OverDrive.

E-audiobooks moved in November 2020.

On January 31, the library's RBDigital collection was closed down and digital magazines have been migrated to OverDrive.

E-magazines are now available in OverDrive and in the Libby app.

In the Libby app, add the MELSA (Metropolitan Library Service Agency) Library to access magazines.

To add the MELSA Library:

  • Tap the Libby "face" icon in the upper right corner of the app screen.
  • Tap "Add a Library".
  • Search for "MELSA" and then log in with your library card number.

Choose from thousands of titles. You can check out as many magazines as you like.

Magazine checkouts do not count against your e-book and e-audiobook checkouts.

Magazines check out for 21 days at time.

Three years of back issues are available.

On February 17 the SPPL e-book collection will be merged with the MELSA collection and everything will be available in one place.

Before that date, you can switch between the two libraries in the app.

When all the updates have been made, e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines will all be available in the Libby app, opens a new window.

In the end, the Libby app will be your one-stop spot for e-books, e-audiobooks, and e-magazines.
