Transforming Libraries – Hayden Heights

Transforming Libraries

Hayden Heights

Saint Paul Public Library is co-creating, with the community, a vision to transform Hayden Heights Library.

Update on Hayden Heights Library

August 3, 2026 Update

Construction on renovations continues at Hayden Heights Library building, transforming it into a resource-rich community hub. The masonry wall that will support the adult changing station has been installed and saw-cutting for the new hold lockers and book drop is also complete. The upgraded hold lockers can be filled from inside the building, allowing staff to restock materials more efficiently.

Planning for a new roof is underway to support a large solar array. The new roof will be white, which will help reduce heat absorption, contributing to lower urban heat effects in the area.
