Mobile Library
About the New Mobile Library
After more than 19 years traversing all corners of the city, the current vehicle has reached the end of its useful library life. The Library is replacing the current vehicle with a state-of-the-art vehicle—the Mobile Library—that will provide new and expanded services based on community feedback.
The Mobile Library will be more accessible, efficient, and will better reflect Saint Paul’s rich diversity by offering books in multiple languages and displaying vibrant art. In addition to a revolving collection of books for borrowing, residents will also be able to participate in ever-changing programming for all ages and connect with a digital navigator to answer technology-related questions and get access to broadband internet. The vehicle will also be wrapped with original artwork created by local community artist Emma Eubanks.
Updates to Schedule & Interim Services
Beginning March 31 and while transitioning to a new vehicle, the Library will use a city car to offer limited, interim services to existing stops every week for 15 minutes to:
- Bring requested books and DVDs to current Mobile Library users
- Take requests
- Take back items to be returned
- Provide updates on the new vehicle
Interim Services Schedule:
For full Library services, residents are encouraged to continue visiting their nearest brick and mortar SPPL neighborhood library.
