In February 2018 Riverview Library hosted a series of listening sessions and distributed a West Side Community Engagement Survey. Our goal was to identify the interests, aspirations, and needs of West Siders so Riverview can continue to build a collection and provide programs and classes that are pertinent, meaningful, interesting, and fun for our adult residents.
Listening Sessions and surveys were made available in both English and Spanish. We heard from 169 people and learned so much! In May 2018 a group of West Siders and library staff worked together to sort through 1,564 individual pieces of information generated by participant responses. Together we were able to identify common themes across the data. We will use this data to improve our collection and program offerings to our residents.
