Saint Paul Public Library hosts party to celebrate going fine free

Mayor Carter, Douala Soul Collective, and local poet May Lee Yang will help celebrate the new policy on Saturday, January 19, 2–4 p.m., at Sun Ray Library (2105 Wilson Ave.)

SAINT PAUL, MN—Saint Paul Public Library is hosting a party this weekend and everyone is invited! Join the library and Mayor Carter to celebrate the library’s new fine-free policy and strategic direction on Saturday, January 19, 2–4 p.m. at Sun Ray Library (2105 Wilson Ave.). This is a family-friendly opportunity for the community to come together; be welcomed by the library and city officials; and enjoy food, conversation, and entertainment.

Saturday's festivities include:

Mayor Carter, Library Board Chair and Councilmember Jane Prince, and Library Director Catherine Penkert will deliver brief remarks shortly after 2 p.m. Library staff members will be present to help people borrow items, renew or sign up for a library card, and learn more about the library’s vast materials, programs, and services.
