You must be a resident of the City of Saint Paul, MN to apply for an eCard.
If the residency information cannot be verified, the registration will not be accepted.
Registrations that do not provide the required information will be deleted.
After you submit your information and that information has been verified, a page will display your eCard number.
Please write down your library card number. If you provide an email address the card number will also be emailed to you.
NOTICE TO PATRON OF SAINT PAUL PUBLIC LIBRARY
You have asked to register as a user of the Saint Paul Public Library in order to borrow materials or to access databases not available to unregistered users. To complete this registration, the Library is asking you to provide private information about yourself. In accordance with Minnesota Statute 13.04 Subd. 2, you are hereby notified that:
This information is requested in order that:
- you may receive notification of materials being held for you and of materials you have borrowed which have not been returned in a timely manner, and
- you may access electronic databases which require patron authentication.
The personal information you provide will be made available only to City employees or officers as necessary for Library purposes. It will not be made available to non-City employees
- unless required to collect unpaid debts to the Library, or
- in response to a subpoena or other court order.
You may refuse to provide the following information:
The information will help the Library to properly identify you and to provide early notification of held or overdue materials, but providing this information is not required in order to obtain full borrowing privileges:
- telephone number
- email address
- Social Security number.
If you refuse to provide the following information, the Library will NOT issue to you a library card and the benefits it provides:
- name
- address
- birthday (month, day, year).
Your eCard number will work with the library's online services immediately.
Your eCard will allow you to place holds on items in the catalog and check out up to 10 physical items from the library.
Use your eCard at self-checkout machines by logging into the library mobile app and displaying your digital barcode.
If you already have a Saint Paul Public Library card or have already registered a card with the Saint Paul Public Library, you do not need to complete this form.
Do not use this form if you are already registered but have lost your card. Please visit any library location for a replacement.
To convert an eCard to a card with full borrowing privileges, please apply in person at any Saint Paul Public Library location and provide valid ID.
