SAINT PAUL, MN—Saint Paul Public Library is hosting a party this weekend and everyone is invited! Join the library and Mayor Carter to celebrate the library’s new fine-free policy and strategic direction on Saturday, January 19, 2–4 p.m. at Sun Ray Library (2105 Wilson Ave.). This is a family-friendly opportunity for the community to come together; be welcomed by the library and city officials; and enjoy food, conversation, and entertainment.
Saturday's festivities include:
- Poetry recitation by May Lee Yang, opens a new window
- Music by Douala Soul Collective, opens a new window
- Rapper Brandon Moore
- Free cookies from Cookie Cart, opens a new window
- Children's activities, including face painting, hands-on pop-up card making, and shadow puppets
Mayor Carter, Library Board Chair and Councilmember Jane Prince, and Library Director Catherine Penkert will deliver brief remarks shortly after 2 p.m. Library staff members will be present to help people borrow items, renew or sign up for a library card, and learn more about the library’s vast materials, programs, and services.
