One of the best things about a library is that it’s a place where you can try something new without a lot of pressure.
Many of us stick to what’s familiar. We check out the same genres, follow the same routines, spend time with the same circles. That’s normal — life is busy and we like what we like! But when's the last time you really tried something new or put yourself out there!? Here at the Library, we’re inviting you to step out of your bubble. And we’re not talking about anything extreme like getting a motorcycle or deciding to run a marathon (unless those things are your jam...). Getting out of your comfort zone can be as simple as joining a book club for the first time, signing up for an art class, or stopping by a program you’ve never tried before.
Expand your horizons — and maybe meet some new people — with some of these fun, free activities for adults:
Book Clubs
Never been to a book club? This is your sign. You don’t have to be a literary expert — just someone who enjoys a good story and good conversation. Book clubs are a low-key way to hear different perspectives, discover new authors, and connect with fellow readers. Bonus: you might find yourself picking up a genre you’ve never tried before.

Adult Art Classes
No experience necessary — seriously. The Dayton's Bluff Library's Adult Art Classes are designed for exploration, not perfection.

Knitting & Crocheting Clubs
Bring a project or start something new. Swap tips, share patterns, or just enjoy some quiet company while you work.
Puzzle Night & Coffee + Crosswords
If you love a good brain teaser, pull up a chair and join one of our puzzle, game, and crossword hangouts.
Curious what else we have to offer (karaoke anyone!?)? Check out our full event calendar here.
