Calling all anime fans, pop culture geeks, and gamers! ToshoCon, a FREE one-day convention RETURNS on Saturday, October 12, 2019, at Arlington Hills Community Center.

    Make your own costume in the Createch Studio and enter to win prizes in the Cosplay Contest!
    Watch a selection of your favorite anime TV shows and movies from Crunchyroll throughout the day, or browse a large collection of manga.
    Attention teens 12-18! Do you have artistic skills you are itching to show off? Submit your art and you could win a prize of a selection high –quality art supplies, plus have your art on display at the convention.
    Artsy meets geeky at our crafts booth! Stop by and tap into your creative, geeky side. Japanese snacks and tea will be available throughout the day for free.

Virtual Cosplay Contest

We welcome youth from 10-18 years old to submit their best cosplay selfie and win a $50 Tomodachi gift certificate! Judging will be based on the creativity of photo and location as well as cosplay quality.


  • Use hashtag “toshoconsppl19” on Twitter or Instagram
  • One person per photo- person in the photo and person taking photo must be the same.
  • Only cosplay appropriate for all ages.
  • Must post by midnight, October 12.
  • Must follow Saint Paul Public Library on Twitter ( and Instagram ( and be willing to respond to a direct message with your email. Prize will be sent via email only. 
  • By entering this contest, you give Saint Paul Public Library permission to use your image in promotional materials.

Present at ToshoCon 2019

We're looking for participants with interests in anime, manga, comics, games, dance, and Japanese culture. Applications are due October 1st for volunteers and September 20th for those requesting compensation.

Art Contest Application

We welcome young artists from 10-18 years old to submit their art for display at ToshoCon. This year’s ToshoCon 2019, we will allow fanart and original submission. Two prizes, one will receive a digital drawing tablet, and the other, will receive prizes of a selection of high-quality art supplies. New this year, we will not be judging art work, but rather your art that is display will be entered into a raffle drawing. Please drop off and display your artwork the day of Toshocon to be entered into the raffle drawing. Winners will be drawn at closing ceremony.

Share or sell your art at ToshoCon 2019

We welcome you to ToshoCon, a free opportunity to share and sell your art. Deadline for submissions is end of September or until tables are filled. Artist who wants to participate in ToshoCon 2019 convention, will be notified one week before ToshoCon and must respond back to guarantee a spot. This is to assure we have an accurate count on tables because tables are heavy to bring down the stairs to the gym.
