About Marcom

The Marcom Office at Saint Paul Public Library strengthens awareness of, support for, and engagement with library agencies by:

  • connecting audiences and user groups with services, programs and activities at the Library through community engagement, communication and online services 
  • coordinating the development and maintenance of the Digital Library 
  • researching, supporting and implementing new technologies 
  • defining and implementing overall strategy for Library communications
  • conveying the Library's value to key constituencies 
  • demonstrating the Library's relevance and significance to community agencies

What We Do

The Marcom Office fulfills several key functions and provides services to Library staff. We can help you with the following kinds of projects:

  • creating, coordinating, and implementing marketing and promotional plans for events, programs and services at the Library 
  • working to attract audiences to events and programs 
  • working with Twin Cities and national media to garner coverage of Library activities, programs and services 
  • designing print and electronic publications (brochures, posters, postcards, web pages and other publications) to support and promote Library events, programs and services 
  • writing and editing text for publications (print and online) 
  • handling production (bids, press checks, printing, and bulk mailing) for print publications 
  • working with the Friends of the Saint Paul Public Library and MELSA marketing and communications initiatives 
  • cultivating and coordinating strategic marketing partnerships 
  • creating and publishing internal staff communication 
  • coordinating systemwide social media efforts
  • assisting with maintaining and updating identity and way-finding signage
