The school year is just about to begin. We are looking for motivated and passionate individuals to serve as volunteer tutors and mentors for the many AMAZING students who visit our afterschool programs. Volunteers help kids foster a love for reading, assist students of all ages with homework and English Language Learning, and build meaningful relationships during the course of the school year. Never tutored before? No problem! We provide free training on a variety of tutoring strategies.
Which volunteer opportunity is right for you?
- Reading Together: Get paired with a 1st-5th grader who you’ll meet with once a week to build literacy skills, reading comprehension, and a love of reading.Commitment: 1 hour a week
- Homework Centers: Assist students of all ages on a one-to-one basis with homework, writing, or learning English, by helping them build skills to become independent learners.Commitment: 2-3 hours a week
- Createch: Be an engaging and fun role model while working alongside teens with their creative projects involving digital media, technology, art, gaming, and digital media.Commitment: 2 hours a week or more
