Coming February 17: A New OverDrive site

In 2021, OverDrive and the Libby app will be your one-stop spot for e-books, downloadable audiobooks, and digital magazines.

Items from RBDigital and cloudLibrary are moving to OverDrive and the Saint Paul Public Library collection will be joining collections from the Twin Cities metro area, offering you access to more materials all in one place!

OverDrive moves to the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary February 17

The SPPL OverDrive collection will be moved to the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary on February 17.

On the day of the migration, you will be directed to the new collection from the current Saint Paul Public Library OverDrive page and in the Libby app.

The transfer will take the entire day to complete. Until the transfer is complete, you may experience service disruptions trying to use OverDrive.

Your user checkouts, holds, wish lists, and star ratings will transfer to the new collection.

Reading history, recommendations, and tags made in Libby will not be transferred.

You can export your Activity Timeline in the Libby app or use this worksheet to write down titles from your History that you would like to remember.

Accessing the new collection

If you use the SPPL OverDrive website, you will be directed to a new OverDrive site for all Twin Cities metro library users.

Click "Sign In" and then choose "Saint Paul Public Library" from the drop-down menu.

If you use Libby, messaging in the app will connect you to the new shared online library:

cloudLibrary will end in early 2021

In the first quarter of 2021, the e-books and e-audiobooks currently available in cloudLibrary will be moving into the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary.

This change will be taking place no earlier than mid-March 2021.

We will have at least 30 days notice of the end of the cloudLibrary service and will publicize that date as soon as we know it. Check the Changes Coming to E-books page for updates.

Please note that holds will not transfer over from cloudLibrary to OverDrive. To minimize the impact of this, holds in cloudLibrary will be decreased to 1 hold per patron on January 19.

When the cloudLibrary service ends, any checked-out items will not transfer to OverDrive and will no longer be available in the cloudLibrary app.

RBDigital Magazines

On February 1, RBDigital Magazines were moved into the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary.

RBDigital E-Audiobooks

In November 2020, RBDigital audiobooks were moved into the Twin Cities Metro eLibrary.
