Teens Know Best

Best Books for Young Adults

Join the Best Books for Young Adults (BBYA) Reader Committee and voice YOUR opinion across the nation!

What is Best Books for Young Adults?

Fifteen librarians from the U.S. and Canada read hundreds of books published every year to find the select few judged to be quality reads for teens. Publishers, educators, librarians, and most importantly, other TEENS throughout the world wait all year to see what's made this exclusive list!

Where do you come in?

Teens (anyone between the ages of 12-18) are a very important part of the process! You will share your ideas and opinions with a committee member who will take your feedback to the national selection process.

You will have EXCLUSIVE access to books hot-off-the-press, before they reach the public library and bookstores.

You will meet regularly with peers to discuss and share your ideas about the books you are reading.

You will have a direct impact on what gets nominated throughout the year.

If you are interested or have questions, please call Jennifer in Youth Services at 651-266-7034

The BBYA committee meets at the Dayton's Bluff library the second Tuesday of each month, from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
