The Saint Paul Public Library is introducing a new and improved online catalog and website in May.

We think you are going to like what you see. Some features you may appreciate include:

Create your own easy-to-remember username.

A personalized username may be easier to remember than your library card number. And if your library card number changes, you can keep the same username!

To create a username, log in and register with your library barcode number and your current PIN at:

Forgot your library card?

After you have created your username, you can log in to your account using your username and password to find your account number, so you can use it to check out e-books or use any other services that require your library card number.

Place a hold with just one click.

Skip the step of selecting a library every time you place a hold. Set up a preferred location and place holds with just one click. To set this up, log in and click My Settings --> Hold and Pickup Location.

Get organized.

Use virtual Shelves to organize everything you have read, listened to, or watched or that you want to check out from the library later. To see your Shelves, log in and click My Profile --> Shelves.

Connect with SPPL and a community of readers.

See what Saint Paul Public Library and other readers are reading and recommending. Follow SPPL staff or other readers who have chosen to share their lists and recommendations. You can rate items, post comments and create lists.

Share only what you want.

You decide how much or how little of your Shelves to share with others. Your Borrowing and On Hold items are always private. To set your privacy settings, log in and go to My Settings. Under Privacy, click My Shelves and My Feeds.

About Our New Catalog and Website

Our new catalog and site are powered by BiblioCommons. BiblioCommons has a proven track record of working successfully with public library systems in the U.S. and Canada, including the Hennepin County Library.

You will find that the new catalog and website feature a clean online display and works well on mobile devices. The catalog has excellent search capabilities, making it easy to find what you want but also easier to browse all the library collection has to offer.
